Leslie's Professional Bio

Since joining the Promotional Products Industry in 1984 Leslie (Oesen) Ashby has worked diligently to ensure all of her business relationships receive the maximum benefit thru their involvement with her and is a well respected authority on the promotional products industry in Canada. Today Leslie works with a group of suppliers providing marketing support and sales representation within the province of Ontario.

Career Highlights:

In 1985 Leslie joined Canada's only national multi-line rep Fred Oesen (Task Force Marketing) and was responsible for sales representation in the GTA for 5 industry suppliers. After a short mat leave she was recruited by Elegance Leather in 1987 to take over the position of National Sales Manager & successfully doubled their sales in the first year then continued to generate double digit growth each of the following years until she left in 1991 to co-foundTEAM Task Forcewith Fred Oesen.

Launched in 1992 TEAM Task Force was the only national membership driven sales & marketing agency in Canada and was the most well recognized & respected agency for over 15 years. 

TEAM Task Forcewas acquired in 2007 by ASI to create ASI Canada and Leslie was hired as VP of Distributor Sales; with her involvement they more than doubled their membership in Canada. 

With her three-year contract fulfilled Leslie returned to her roots with Strategic Sales Team, a multi-line agency created to provide marketing support & sales representation focusing on Canadian industry suppliers.

Professional Development:

34 years of attendance at education sessions provided by PPAI, ASI & PPPC including sessions by Steve Slack (the co-creator of the CAS/MAS system), Fran Ford, Dale Denham, David Blaise, Cliff Quicksell, Rosalie Marcus & many more. 

Organized and participated in the best attended and successful education events in Ontario for the PPPC Ontario Chapter utilizing her connections with some of the highest profile Distributors in Canada. 

 Association Involvement:

1996 nominated to the PPAC Ontario Board and voted to serve as President in 1999 after only three years on the Board.

 

2013 - 2015 served a 2ndterm on the PPPC Ontario Chapter Board, President in 2015

 

Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from PPPC Ontario Chapter in 2007 for her dedication and service to the industry.
